We invite every Family and Parishioner to share their Time, Talent, and Treasure with our Parish Community as we journey together in Faith. Please consider the following opportunities.

ALTAR SERVERS

Adults Serve at 8:00 AM morning Mass Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and 7:30 AM Sunday. They also serve Funeral Masses.
Youth Young women and men, Grades 4 through High School serve weekend and Wedding Masses and assist at other liturgical celebrations.


CHOIR

Led by Gerald DiPietro

YOUTH CHOIR

All Youth in Grades Kindergarten through High School are invited to raise their voices, hearts and souls to God in song - Those Who Sing Pray Twice!

Practices are Wednesday evenings 3:45PM to 5:00PM in the Choir Loft and Sunday 7:30AM in the Choir Loft before performance at 8:15AM Childrens Mass.


ADULT CHOIR

Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in the Choir Loft.  The Choir sings as scheduled at the 10:15 Mass.


YOUTH MINISTRY

An integral component in preparation for The Sacrament of Confirmation, And also in the continuing journey in faith of our youth. Includes spiritual, service and social activities and is open to all students in Grades 9 - 12.

Jr. High Youth Group is open to all students in Grades 7 & 8.


EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION

Eligibility Requirements:

actively living the catholic faith
reside in the Archdiocese of Hartford
attained age of eighteen
have been confirmed
if married, the marriage must be a valid Catholic Marriage

Commission:

The commission is for six consecutive years. Ministry is to be exercised on a regular basis. Twice a month is the minimum - weekly is preferred. Commission covers both serving at mass and bringing Communion to the sick. You will be assigned to a scheduled Mass and training will be provided by the parish.

Recommission:

An individual who wishes to serve again after completing a six year term may do so provided:

the pastor approves the commission
the individual had not served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion for one year
he/she attends a training session
he/she attends a commission ceremony


FAITH FORMATION

This ministry has many programs that are vital to the life of the parish. The programs include Religious Education, Sacramental Preparation, Spiritual direction for families and individuals, R.C.I.A. program, assign needed volunteers to appropriate areas of parish life, and many more programs. We invite everyone to prayerfully consider how they can use their gifts to enhance our programs. Volunteers are Earths Angels!


FAITH MINISTRY


FOREVER YOUNG

This senior citizen organization offers spiritual, educational, and social activities for those age 55 and older.

Meetings are the third Monday of the month, September - June (except January), in the Church Hall.


HOLY NAME SOCIETY

Men are invited to join this Society to honor our Lord?s name through prayer and action. meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of every month from September through June except for the second Tuesday of November (because of Election Day). All meetings start at 7 p.m.

KNITTING MINISTRY

This Ministry?s Mission is to provide a prayerful environment for individuals to share their love of knitting / crocheting and to reach out to those in need of comfort, solace, and prayers. The knitter / crocheter begins each prayer Shawl/Scarf/Afghan with prayers and blessings for the recipient and when the creation is completed, it is blessed before being presented to the recipient.

Meetings are Tuesday Mornings at 10:00 AM in the Legion Room.

Symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving, God,

They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace,

Mother, hug, shelter and beautify.

Those who have received these shawls have been

Uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to

Fly above their troubles.


LEGION OF MARY

Men and women meet weekly at 8:30 AM Monday Morning in the Legion Room to pray the Rosary and Legion prayers. The main purpose of the Legion is evangelization and to spread devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary


MI VILLAGE

Men and women meet regularly in this small Christian Community, praising Mary the mother of Our Lord and Savior, through the contemplative reflections and teachings of St. Maximillian Kolbe and St. Therese of Liseuix.


READERS

Anyone Grade Six or older (Youth and Adults) who would like to proclaim the Scriptures at Mass is invited to sigh up for a scheduled Mass. Training is provided.


ST. ANNE SOCIETY

Women are invited to honor St. Anne, the Mother of Our Blessed Virgin Mary, through prayer and action, in this society. Meetings are usually every other month, generally on Monday at 7:00 PM in the Church Hall.


SOCIAL ACTION MINISTRY

The Social Action Ministry was created to encourage parishioners of Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Parish to become active in the church community and to bring the parishioners of Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church closer together. We meet several times a year to discuss our planned activities for the coming year. We sponsor the church Food Bank, Blood Clinic, Flu Clinic, BLood Pressure Screening and our Fall Annual Social honoring special members of our parish. We also assist other societies within our parish. We continue to try and expand our efforts in reaching out to bur church community.


SOCIETY OF OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL

This Society of volunteers prepares, organizes, and executes the planning and implementation of the Annual Feast and Procession. Many parishioners have volunteered every year for decades to help make the feast a success.


USHERS / MINISTERS OF HOSPITALITY

These volunteers greet parishioners and visitors at Mass, take collections and distribute bulletins.
